Die Komposition fungierte bei der Entwicklung der VideoCollage als "Leitfaden" und hat eine wichtige integrative Funktion: Sie bildet den Teppich - den Tanzboden - für die Akteure. Daher sind die Bilder eng mit den Tönen verknüpft, synchronisiert.

Ellipse is a Found footage Collage catch from dance and music contexts. Human bodies and their movements, gestures and expressions are forming a sensual flowing cordon of information. If viewer are able to admit to watch it, it's possible to get varied and ambiguous messages.

The composition acts as a guide and has a important integrative function. It frames a kind of 'dance floor' for the protagonists.

Paulo C. Chagas composed Ellipse 1986 stimulated by the mime Isidoro Fernandez and his story about the genesis of human being.
