My Cosmos Garden, 2019

In this video the garden is a place for encounters with one’s self.

While the artist in her garden takes important steps to cultivate crops (soil preparation, sowing, irrigation) she touches soil and plants. Her view focusses on internal to external realms of experiences, and vice versa. Memories and feelings of the past arise as she cares for her future food in the present.
The different layers of the video are: a stationary camera, a head camera, and a text by Hermann Hesse (“Innen und Aussen”, 1925). These layers converge on one hand synchronous and on the other hand asynchronous and thus compose networks for self-reflection and self-observation that leave room for interpretation of the numerous metaphors.
